Living Stillness Meditation Retreat
Hidden Villa
Los Altos Hills, CA
Thursday, April 3, 2025 (4pm) - Sunday, April 6, 2025 (2pm)
All are welcome.
Teaching: Adam Moskowitz & Su-Wen Yang
We invite you to gather in a beautiful, communal setting as we care for our bodies, minds, and hearts within the shared container of retreat. Whatever is true for you—whatever is happening in your life and inner world—come as you are. This retreat is open to new and experienced practitioners of meditation and mindfulness.
Hidden Villa offers a peaceful and inspiring environment for our time together. With its rolling meadows, quiet woodlands, and miles of scenic trails, this retreat center provides the perfect sanctuary to slow down, reconnect with nature, and nurture a sense of inner stillness.
Retreat is a unique opportunity to learn the art of dwelling in the present moment, the place where love and growth are possible, as Jon Kabat-Zinn has said.
To attend retreat is to let go of our demanding routines and take refuge in silence, togetherness, and a slower rhythm. With mindfulness, we surrender the exhausting pursuit of endlessly edging away from the here and now. We lean into each moment as an opportunity to awaken, enjoy, and be more kind.
Over time, we begin to harmonize with the natural loving-awareness within, a pristine aliveness free from our intellectual filters, yet imbued with intuition, wisdom, and heart. We open to a kind of spacious ease that feels vibrant, joyful, beautiful, and new—yet somehow familiar.
Retreat includes:
Sitting & walking meditation
Gentle movement
Journaling, group reflection, and Q/A
Dharma talk(s)
Delicious meals
Hiking trails and a tranquil, forested setting

Accommodations: The venue’s Hostel is a serene and secluded refuge at the retreat center offering clean, cozy, and rustic sleeping arrangements and heating for your comfort.
Cabins vary in size, occupancy, and style (most cabins will have 3-4 people). Some have bunk beds; due to the size of our retreat, most participants will be able to sleep on a bottom bunk.
A limited number of private cabins are available at a higher rate. A limited number of camping spots are available at lower rate. See below for rates.
The hostel includes a shared bathroom with private showers.
Additional spaces: Beyond the sleeping quarters, you'll find a welcoming indoor communal area—perfect for unwinding, enjoying a cup of tea, or journaling in quiet reflection. Just outside, a spacious porch invites you to soak in the natural beauty of the retreat setting, offering a peaceful spot to breathe, connect, and simply be.
Food: Our beloved friend, Ruthie Praskins is a one-of-a-kind chef who brings immense love and artistry to every meal, crafting beautiful dishes with care and intention. Throughout the retreat, you’ll enjoy three nourishing meals per day (Thursday dinner - Sunday lunch), all included in your registration. Meals are omnivore-based, but Ruthie gladly accommodates dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. Every dish is made to support your well-being, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the retreat experience.
Amenities: In addition to our private meditation hall, participants can enjoy access to eight miles of hiking trails, organic gardens, and farm animals, providing opportunities to connect with nature.
Schedule: Thursday afternoon through Friday morning will be held in a spacious format. You can meditate, hike on the beautiful trails, read, rest, and socialize. Beginning on Friday morning we will move into our traditional retreat structure of silence and formal guided practice, which will end on Sunday around lunch. There will be plenty of time for journaling, group questions and reflection. Specific information and instructions will be provided.
